This community is often associated with the Dixon Apple farm that is south of Santa Fe (on forest rd 89 in the Jemez mountains), there is no relation and if we knew how to contact them, we would tell you. However, if it is apples you are looking for between July and November, you can probably find everything you need right here. Several varieties grow in the Embudo Valley. So if you are in the vicinity, stop and say hello to a few of this valley's apple growers:

		Clovis Romero's orchard features 300 trees of all the popular varieties: Red and Golden Delicious. Winesaps, Stayman Winesaps and Jonathons. He also has a plentiful selection of peaches, nectarines, apricots and pears. The Romero Orchard can be found right off the Taos Highway. Take the Dixon turnoff (Hwy 75) and make the first right after the bridge and head down drive #65. 505.579.4378						Sylvia Vergarra maintains many apple, cherry and peach trees. Her preserves are some of the tastiest you'll find in the state. Look for the La Carreta varieties at the Dixon Cooperative Market.
		Harvey Frauenglas and Big Willow Farm can be found right next to Clovis on the banks of the Embudo River. Harvey is an organic grower of varieties like Winesap, Red, Double Red and Golden Delicious, Stayman, Jonathon, Macintosh, Red and Old Romes. He's even got a few mystery varieties on the property. He normally makes delicious organic sweet cider but the cider shed and 6 acres of the surrounding orchard are up for sale. Give him a call at 505.579.4326 if you're interested in the property or if you just want to pick up a bushel or two of apples, cherries, pears, plums, peaches, grapes or mulberries.
